– My AW15 Wishlist.

Last week, I was lucky enough to be invited to Boohoo’s AW15 preview. The evening, hosted at Soder + Ko, Dublin’s newest ‘hot-spot’ was fabulous. The room was sprinkled with fashion, food and cocktails – the perfect recipe for any great event.

Unfortunately, I now have a wishlist which has reduced my bank account to tears. Yes, is a really affordable source of style, but not when you want to purchase everything you see – argh!! Here’s my top picks for the season:

Black Shirt Dress

First up, I have fallen for this chic shirt dress. It is simple, yet sophisticated and could be dressed up or down, depending on the occasion. Personally, I would pair this with some luxurious patterned tights, black stilettos and major sparkle for a night out. The dress includes a belt which may be tied to give the illusion of a clinched waist. Costing just €34.00, this piece is available here in a multitude of colours.

Black Sudette Jacket

I just couldn’t resist this ‘Suedette Biker Jacket’ and so, purchased it last night. This design offers a nice alternative from the ever-popular black leather jacket. I think that this one will be really cool with edgy dresses or skinny jeans and tees. It retails at €47.00 and is available to purchase here.

Navy and Pink Day Dress

My next pick is this cute skater dress. I adore the pretty pink and navy pattern and think this one would be perfect for casual wear. I would pair it with some over-the-knee boots, or grey/navy tights for the perfect A/W look. This dress is a bargain at €24 and you can find it here – I might just have to add this one to my own wardrobe.

Black Turtle Neck

Turtle neck tops seem to be really on trend this season. They’re on sale in every high street store, but Boohoo are pricing their’s at just €14 so stock up while you can. These tops can be paired with virtually anything and this one is available in seven colours here.

Kim Kardashian Style Coat

I am CRAZY about this coat! Reminiscent of Kim Kardashian’s style but for only €41 – where could you go wrong? This one is belted and looks really cosy for wrapping up during the cold weather. You can find it here.

Tulle Skirt

If you’re looking to swap your skinnies for a skirt, look no further. I love this tulle midi skirt with metallic detailing. It will really stand out from the crowd so if you’re looking to dress up, this one is perfect. You could pair it with a crop top as seen in the picture, or invest in a black bardot top or bodysuit if you want to avoid revealing your midriff. This piece has an elasticated waist, so it should hide a multitude of sins. It is €34 and available here.

Ok folks, that’s a wrap on my favourite pieces from for AW15. Let me know if you love them, or even hate them – I always like to hear your opinions.

Debenhams AW15 Collection – My Picks.

Those of you who follow me on Snapchat (username: rougewriting) will already know that I attended the Debenhams AW15 press event a few weeks ago. I’m studying for my FE1 exams at the moment, so posts are slightly delayed but I have finally gotten around to researching my top picks for the season.

Henry Holland Military Jacket

First up, I am in love with this H! by Henry Holland ‘Military Jacket’. Reminiscent of Cheryl Versini Fernandez’s style, this pick could be dressed up at night with the addition of heels and accessories or dressed down during the day with a cosy scarf. RRP €97.50 available here.

Henry Holland Jumper

Next up, we have another piece from the H! by Henry Holland collection. This wool mix jumper is playful yet, chic and could be worn with skinny jeans or casual mini skirts. RRP €60.00 available here.

Star Coat

This coat from Star by Julien Macdonald was my favourite piece from the AW15 collection which was displayed at the event. I love how the military style of this coat is softened by the pleated skirt – very 50s chic! I will definitely be purchasing this one for myself. RRP €180 available here.

Julien macdonal Top

This piece is such a fabulous colour that I couldn’t resist adding it to my picks for AW15. It is also from the Star by Julien Macdonald collection. The pleated detailing is flawless. I would match this top with a pair of ‘leather effect’ skinny jeans and killer heels. For those of us who are ‘tummy concious’, I’d imagine that this design would be very forgiving. RRP €67.50 available here.

Joe Brown Tights

Accessory wise, I love these patterned tights by Joe Brown. Patterned tights can really dress up an outfit and are perfect with casual shirt dresses for an understated sexy look. RRP €17.95 available here.

Red Herring Boots

I really like these Red Herring fringed ankle boots, also available in a ‘tan’ shade. RRP €52.50 available here.

Lipsy Shoes

And last but not least, are these Lipsy shoes. I actually purchased these to match my graduation outfit and I’m delighted with them. They’re gorgeous and very reminiscent of Taylor Swift’s ‘Bad Blood’ music video. They’re also relatively comfortable – hurray! RRP €90 available here.

And now, I have some extra good news – at the time of publishing there was 20% off all the items listed at so check them out sooner, rather than later.

Let me know what you think in the comments!

Tori Michaels London Launch.

Any friends reading this post will be well aware of my obsession with classic cut, tailored clothing. Elegance is key in the style stakes so when I heard that Jodie Fleischmann, former designer for Ted Baker, was launching her own line I couldn’t wait to see the collection.

Fleischmann’s new line seems to be aimed at young ladies, transitioning from high-street style to sophisticated chic. I’m in crazy, stupid love with the tailoring of this clothing – everything is fitted and flattering. Here’s a few of my favourite pieces:

Tori Michael London

Tori Michael London 3

Tori Michael London 2

I am very impressed by the versatility of the pieces in this collection and feel that they could be taken from day-time to night-time with the addition of a few simple accessories. My personal favourite is that gorgeous white jumpsuit which is reminiscent of Taylor Swift’s chic style. And that black cape? Definite superhero material!

Regarding the price point, Tori Michaels’ new collection will retail between £50 – £185. Perhaps a little pricey for the younger audience but, each item is definitely an investment piece that will remain in your wardrobe for years. For more information and a further sneak peek at the line, you can visit the Tori Michaels website. Online sales will commence in early August, with the label also due to be launched in Topshop, Oxford Circus.

Let me know what you think of the pieces. Which one is your favourite?

Flormar Nailspiration – New Brand Launches in Ireland.

News just in announces that make-up brand, Flormar, are due to arrive on Irish shores within the next few weeks – cosmetic addicts countrywide rejoice! I’ve been hearing great things about the brand which is majorly popular in other European countries so, I expect that the Irish ladies will love it. Affordable, yet fabulous – the brand offers fun and fresh cosmetics that won’t break the bank. Flormar started out as a nail polish manufacturer in Milan way back in 1970, so we expect their polish to be picture perfect. Here’s a sneak preview courtesy of Rachel Dalton Communications:

First up, we have the neutral shade ‘Purr Cat’. Neutral nail polish is perfect for girls on the go – it matches absolutely everything. I wore this formula for a total of three days, chip-free, before swiftly removing it to try another colour.

Next up, we have a matte formula in the the shade ‘White Board’. Personally, I think I’m a little too pale to rock white nail polish but I imagine that this one would be gorgeous with a summer tan. After 2 – 3 coats, this polish retained a really strong pigmentation.

Finally, we have my favourite. This one is Flormar’s quick drying formula in the shade ‘Bright Coral’. Anyone who knows me will know that I am obsessed with all shades of red – it is definitely my power colour. ‘Bright Coral’ is eye-catching, bright and really funky. I will be wearing this one all week!

Excuse the very short and weakened state of my nails, they’re suffering post acrylic extensions at the moment.

One little note about this product that must be made is that you should be careful and cover surfaces when applying the polish. Although the brush is really easy to use for an even application, it does allow for ‘dripping’ so, mind the furniture.

I’ve heard through the grapevine that Carla Jackson, sister of the fabulous Suzanne, will be brand ambassador for Flormar when it does arrive in Ireland and if I can achieve her fabulous contour with the products, I will be buying them by the bucket-load.

If You’ve Got It, Flaunt It – Steal Beyonce’s Style.

Queen of her very own Beyhive, Beyonce is often spotted wearing a uniform of stripes. Her most recent look, featured below, is a key example of how the trend can be really flattering, wearable and uber chic. The question is, can we steal Bey’s style?

The likelihood is that Bey’s beautiful dress cost hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. So, I visited one of my favourite sites to find some budget-friendly options for those of us who don’t have a billion dollars in the bank/elevator. I think you’ll like these ones – I found some real goodies.

First up, check out this gorgeous crop top and shorts combo. Perfect for summer – this outfit is fun and young. You could dress it down with some gladiator sandals or dress it up with some sexy heels, a metallic clutch and a slick of red lipstick. This outfit retails at just €27 and is available here.

Not comfortable in a crop top? I hear you, but you can still achieve the on-trend striped look. Check out this gorgeous ‘swing’ playsuit, perfect for hiding that pizza you had for dinner and super stylish too. This little beauty is just €14 and is available here. Pair it with some wedge heels and sunglasses for a sassy summer look.

What do you think? Would you rock this look?

Lady In Red – Steal Kendall Jenner’s Style.

I spend a large majority of my free time keeping up with the Kardashians. In fact, my mother is starting to question whether these people of whom I speak so often are actually friends of mine. So, when photos of Kendall Jenner rocking this gorgeous red number were released, I knew I had to steal her style. Kendall’s dress is a Halston Heritage number and is expected to be released in their Fall 2015 line. However, it is also expected to retail at around the £500 mark, a little far beyond my student budget’s reach.

Kendall Jenner

Bargain hunters, behold – I have searched my favourite affordable clothing sites and discovered an almost identical look from

This vibrant red maxi dress retails at just €27, perfect for the purse strings. Sophisticated and sexy – you could dress this number up like Kendall with black heels and a waist defining belt or, you could go with a casual look by pairing it with gladiator sandals and a long necklace.

The dress is available here:

Be quick, it’s bound to sell out.

Missguided have some fabulous summer offerings so I’ve had a look and come up with the following shorts/top combo:

misguided top

This coral top is perfect for summer – light and eye-catching. It’s only €21 and available here:

A more subtle option than Bey’s hot pink shorts – these mauve pink shorts would be really flattering for those of us rocking a ghostly pale Irish complexion. They’re €30.80 and available here:

Bey’s look has been topped off with a gorgeous green handbag and this one from Parfois is a fabulous alternative. I love the bamboo detail on the handles! It’s €39.99 and available here:

So there you go, celebrity style without the designer pricetag. What do you think?

Wild Thing, You Make My Heart Sing.

Wet n Wild are a great brand for producing high-quality but affordable beauty products. Relatively new to the Irish market, the brand is known amongst bloggers as one of Ireland’s best kept beauty secrets. So, when I received an invitation to the launch of their summer range – I was super excited! The summer range is everything I expected and more. I am particularly impressed by how wearable the bright colours are. Here are some of my new favourites:

First up, we have the Wet n Wild ‘Colour Icon Brow Pencil in the shade ‘Blonde Moments’ (available in 4 shades). As a dedicated ginger, I usually find it difficult to locate a brow pencil close to my hair colour but this one is perfect. The formula is creamy, easy to apply and long lasting. This product is designed to give brows definition and shape, without making them appear ‘painted on’. I love the natural look.

Next up, we have ‘Colour Icon Eyeliner’ in the shade ‘Cool Green’. Now, usually I tend to steer clear of bright coloured eyeshadows and liners but since it is finally summer, I gave this one a go and loved it. Just use it to line your lower lashes for a subtle pop of colour. Or, if you’re braver than me – apply loads and rock it!

If you’re going to apply a pop of colour to your eyelids, it is usually best to go for a very subtle lip. I love this ‘Mega Slicks’ lip gloss in ‘Cherry Glaze’. Unlike other affordable glosses, it is neither sticky nor drying. It glides on smoothly to leave lips hydrated and utterly kissable.

Wet n Wild products vary in price range from €1.99 to €6.49 and are available in Dunnes Stores, Penneys and selected pharmacies nationwide. Who could say no to that bargain?

‘Cause She Never Goes Out Of Style – Steal Taylor’s Look For Less.

I am officially a 21 year old ‘fan girl’ who has become obsessed with Taylor Swift! The woman has become a major style icon around the globe – recently topping Maxim’s Hot 100. But, with coveted designers clamoring to dress Taylor – can we steal her style without a huge price tag?

You may be aware that Taylor recently rocked up to the Billboard Music Awards 2015 ‘head-to-toe’ in a beautiful Balmain jumpsuit. Unfortunately, this jumpsuit was a one of a kind – unavailable for purchase.

taylor swift bb

So, I have searched the internet high and low to bring you a similar look at a fraction of the price. Check out this fabulous white, ‘cut-out’ jumpsuit from Asos (€68.49). Perfect for summer, this jumpsuit is probably a more wearable version of the one sported by Taylor. Chances are, you don’t have a huge awards event coming up but the outfit pictured below offers some Swiftie style that can be worn during the day and dressed up at night. I especially love the ‘metal bar detail’ which will be flattering for those conscious of their ‘tummy area’.

The jumpsuit is available here:,20&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=204&sort=-1&clr=Ivory&totalstyles=102&gridsize=3

Just pair with some silver sandals, a ‘cuff’ bracelet and some sparkly rings for the ultimate summer-chic look. Let me know what you think!
