“I loved most when his eyelashes twitched and he blinked, and suddenly happiness was there inside his eyes. Unmistakable. Like a single word printed on a clean white page.” – Augusten Burroughs.
As a beauty blogger, I tend to be sceptical about “celebrity endorsed” products. I’m not a fan of Zoella’s beauty products, or Tanya Burr’s and, I have to say that I’m still on the fence about Kylie’s “Lip Kits” – I just can’t decide whether I like them or think they’re completely over-priced.
On Irish shores and amongst the blogging community, there is no doubt that Sue Jackson has earned the reputation of celebrity. Sue is a girl boss to be admired and has grown from beauty blogger to entrepreneur by developing her brand SOSU, earning rave reviews along the way. Now, to date, I haven’t had much experience with Sue’s products. I never got around to purchasing her contour palette because to be honest, I’m not entirely sure of my cream contouring abilities. However, as one of Sue’s Snapchat followers, I had to get my hands on those false eyelashes that she had been developing for what seems like forever. This was one “celebrity endorsed” launch that I couldn’t resist. But, do the lashes live up to expectations?
I won’t lie, I very rarely bother to apply false eyelashes. So, I was apprehensive about the price point of the SOSU “Luxury Lashes” which comes in just under twenty euro. And all I can say is that I was a complete eejit. I have never fallen in love with a beauty product as quickly as I have with the “Rosie” lashes from the luxury range. This was love at first wear!
If you don’t believe in the power of false lashes, you just need to take a look at the before and after picture below. While the “Rosie” lashes look quite full and dramatic in their packaging, I think they look pretty natural when worn with a full face of make up. They’re very elegant and classy and every single time that I’ve worn them, I’ve had people ask where they can purchase them. That’s always a good sign, if you ask me.
The lashes are made with really high-quality silk fibres and can be worn up to twenty-five times. I can’t vouch for the twenty-five wears, but I can tell you that I’ve worn mine approx five times and they’re as good as new. That’s a result for me, especially since I haven’t been minding them particularly well. They’re so light-weight that I become unaware of them after a minute or two and tend to forget to be careful not to damage them whilst wearing them. Usually I pay seven or eight euro for a pair of false lashes and bin them after one use, so I consider the “Rosie” lashes to be a great investment.
All I can say is; well done Sue, you have blown the competition out of the water. I am in LOVE with the “Rosie” lashes and cannot wait to try the rest of the collection.
SOSU false eyelashes are currently available in pharmacies nationwide and online at SOSU.ie. Let me know what you think of this style in the comments section!
