“We are all worms but I believe that I am a glow-worm” – Winston Churchill.
If you’re an expert in Kardashian-esque contour, you’ll already know all about the benefits of highlighting your facial features. However, if you associate highlighting with the idea of looking like you fell face first into a disco ball, you’re not alone. Many women (particularly those with oily skin) recoil from highlighters for fear of extra shine but, what many don’t know is that when used effectively some highlighting products will provide a subtle, radiant glow. With that in mind, here are some of my favourite products at the moment:
Too Faced “Candlelight Glow” (€30):
This gorgeous powder highlighter from Too Faced offers a fabulous rosy glow. I’ve been using the shade “warm glow” which is an irresistible combination of peach and champagne tones – perfect for sunny radiance.

YSL “Touche Éclat Slogan Limited Edition” (€35):
If you constantly find yourself using copious amounts of concealer to fake a good night’s sleep then you need this product in your life. The formula works miracles on the under-eye area by concealing dark circles and replacing them with the illusion of radiance. I use this one under the eyes, on top of my cheek bones and occasionally over the “cupid’s bow” area of my lips. Well worth every penny and, I think that the slogan editions are divine – everyone knows that I can’t resist a good quote!
This product is available here from Brown Thomas.
Seventeen “Skin Wow 3 Way Highlighter” (€8.49):
Once you’ve braved the application of powdered highlighter, I recommend embracing a liquid version. Liquid highlighters tend to deliver more pigment and a stronger glow. This formula has a gorgeous pearl-like shade and it’s an absolute bargain! I apply it to my cheek bones, brow bones and cupid’s bow to create a gorgeous dewy effect. A tiny bit of the formula can also be mixed with heavy, matte foundations to give them a healthy luminosity.
This one is available here at Boots.ie.
